Die Perlen von Bora Bora

Aus tausend Grün trat Tahiata.
Des Königs Tochter sprach, allein
am Strand - im Regenbogenschein:
„Wo bist du nur, liebste Oriata?“

Aus ihrem Haar gab sie den Wogen
als Liebespfand den Blütenkranz.
Da stieg herab auf buntem Bogen
Gott Oro, gefolgt vom Sternenglanz.

„O Tahiata, Tochter, wunderschön!
Leidenschaft zeigt dein Verlangen,

The pearls of Bora Bora

From thousand green stepped Tahiata.
The royal daughter spoke, alone
on beach - a rainbow glowed and shone:
“Where is my sweatheart Oriata?”

She gave the waves from her black hair
her crown of blossoms as love token.
There, came down, the bow unbroken,
God Oro, bordered by stars - the luster stair.

“O Tahiata, daughter, such beauty and such love,
such truth and high desire never are in vain.
You shall, I promise you, Oriata see again.
You both will be surrounded by passion from above.

Take here the pearls, obsidian black,
the color of your eyes, so deep and dark,
gleaming of love, ruby-olive in ebony spark,
alike your tears that yearn her back.”
